The Nakiri knife is a traditional Japanese vegetable knife, and its name in German translates to “leaf cutter” – a fitting description given its ability to slice vegetables into ultra-thin pieces. The ZWILLING Gourmet series Nakiri is expertly crafted for peeling, slicing, and finely chopping vegetables into Julienne strips or Brunoise cubes. With its razor-sharp, symmetrical wide blade, it can also be used for chopping herbs and slicing meat or fish into paper-thin cuts.

Featuring a specially hardened 17 cm blade, precision-forged from a single piece of steel, this knife is highly resistant to corrosion, durable, and flexible. The ergonomically designed handle, made from easy-care plastic, ensures a comfortable and secure grip. Its substantial weight makes it an excellent choice for beginners learning professional chopping techniques like the rocking cut. While highly versatile, the Nakiri is not designed for cutting through meat or fish bones.
